2023: A Year of Living Without Limits
The invitation to present at the Society of Women Engineers WE23 Conference became a transformative journey. The conference theme itself whispered a daring challenge: Live Without Limits. Little did I know that preparing for my session, centered around empathy, collaboration, and unleashing potential, would emerge as an unexpected and inspiring journey throughout 2023. This endeavor set the tone for a year marked by purpose and boundless exploration.
A Symphony of Strategic Leadership: WE23 Conference Highlights
Looking back at 2023, it has been a year of change and progress. As a strategic leadership expert, I have had the opportunity to participate in various activities that support teamwork, openness, and impactful results.
I presented an Inspirational Insights session at the Society of Women Engineers WE23 Conference. The session topic is Strategic Leadership: Empowering Teams to Win. During the Inspirational Insights session, I spoke about the importance of empathy and inclusivity in leadership. The attendees appreciated the acronym L.O.V.E (LET OTHER VOICES EXIST), which emphasizes inclusivity and openness.
Empathy in Action: Webinars and Collaborations
I collaborated with the Project Management Institute to deliver a successful webinar on Empathetic Leadership: A Key Approach to Effective Change Management. The webinar received over 12,000 views and achieved a 4.6/5 star rating. As a result of the positive reviews, the session feedback provides takeaways for becoming a more empathetic leader. Moreover, empathy fosters a positive work environment where employees feel their contributions are valuable.
Sales Lessons from Business & Bourbon®
Later in the year, I wrote a guest blog for Business & Bourbon®, which shares valuable insights on sales and client discovery. The blog highlights five essential lessons from Ronnell Richards in his book Shut The Hell Up And Sell.
The five lessons are about:
- The importance of owning the relationship and not just the deal
- Ditching the gimmicky playbook
- Mastering the art of note-taking
- Ditching preconceived notions
- Listening more and talking less
Metrics Matter: Agile Microcredential and Achievements
Another milestone in 2023 was completing the Project Management Institute Agile Metrics Microcredential. The accomplishment positions me to guide high-performing teams to achieve impactful results through strategically chosen metrics. Secondly, the micro-credential emphasizes the importance of focusing on value and leading with foresight. Finally, it helps to develop metrics for teams to foster transparency and collaboration and outlines ways to boost customer satisfaction.
From Accolades to Responsibility: LinkedIn Top Community Voice Badge and Beyond
I am a LinkedIn Top Community Voice. Strong relationships are essential for success in any field. My passion is helping people build better relationships with their stakeholders. Lastly, I hope my work can help make the world more connected and collaborative.

Testimonials:
“Your session at WE23 was a game-changer! You showed me how to lead my team without limits, inspiring us to reach our full potential.”
“The empathy map you shared in your PMI Webinar was a revelation! It transformed how I connect with my colleagues, creating a more collaborative and empowered environment.”
“I’ve always pursued success as a leader, but you taught me that true success involves breaking boundaries in both my personal and professional life.”
“Your expertise and insights were helpful and inspiring. Thank you for dedicating yourself to helping others to grow and succeed.”
“I particularly liked the empathy map. I like to use assessments when I have to train and lead a new team. Without the time to learn about each other, assessments help in shaping communication accordingly.”
“I just love the ideas around understanding others from their points of view—their concerns, issues, goals, etc. Using that to drive compassion, understanding, and better collaboration. I have always felt that around 70-80% of a project manager’s success is based on their communication, leadership, relationship building/collaboration skills. What you talked about is fundamental to all of that.”
In 2023, I lived without limits, and now, as we step into the future, let limitless possibilities bring us together.
